Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Arsenal hold a mutual interest in a summer move to the Emirates Stadium, according to reports in both England and France.

As per Mohamed Bouhafsi from RMC Sport, Mahrez and his camp haven’t been approached by the Gunners, but the player would be keen on the idea of joining Arsenal.

Arsenal are also yet to come in contact with Leicester City regarding an offer, the Daily Mail reports, but the club retains an interest in the winger.

A £41 million bid was thought to be imminent in the French press in response to the presence of Mahrez’s agent, Kamel Bengougam, at Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with RC Lens last Friday.

Bengougam later clarified there was no such deal between the two parties, as he made the trip to Lens to watch one of his clients, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, in action versus the Gunners.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri also claimed the Algerian would stay, declaring: “The market is over, here.”

Mahrez, who remains on tour Leicester, is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal offered by the Foxes, with the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain also thought to keeping an eye on developments at the King Power Stadium.

L’Équipe reported earlier in the week that the striker had asked to leave the club, despite respecting their decision in the event of a refusal in order to keep his relationship with the fans as amicable as possible.

The Lyon boss addressed those claims following the Ligue 1 side’s 1-0 victory away to Sporting on Saturday, with Lacazette himself grabbing the decisive goal in the second half.

“I do not think he is at all affected by this period and the noises around him,” Génésio said. “In any case, he will stay at Lyon.”

Talks over a loan move were reportedly held throughout the week after the Poland international was left out of Arsenal’s squad for their pre-season tour.

Szczęsny is expected to join the Serie A club until the end of the season, with both clubs agreeing to pay a percentage of his €3 million-a-year salary.

The 26-year-old regained supremacy at Roma with 42 appearances last season after losing his spot in the Arsenal XI in early 2015 to Colombian shot-stopper David Ospina.
