Arsenal will not give up on Alex Olxade Chamberlain.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has enjoyed his holiday in Los Angeles has now stepped up his recovery as he looks to be fully fit for pre-season after suffering a knee ligament injury.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has kept Arsenal fans up to date with his progress by posting some pictures on his Instagram account to show him continuing his rehab.

The Arsenal midfielder was ruled out for seven weeks in February after colliding with Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano, before suffering a setback in training which then ruled him out of Euro 2016.

Last season there was high hopes for Oxlade-Chamberlain, he had a blinder against Chelsea in the community shield scoring the winning goal and looked very sharp, but an injury plagued campaign saw the midfielder lose confidence which saw him go without a consistent run of games.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was brought to the Emirates stadium in 2011 and has gone on to play 100 games for the Gunners scoring 7 goals.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been a target for many clubs this summer including Leicester, West Ham and former club Southampton.

However, Arsene Wenger will not give up on Oxlade-Chamberlain; he is a firm believer in his abilities and will give him plenty of opportunities to showcase that next season.

It is likely Wenger will not sanction a move for the 22 year-old this summer and is keen to bring out the best in him and hope the player can stay injury free.

There is no doubt about the English International’s talents and it seems Wenger wants to give him one more big chance to prove himself as an Arsenal player.

Gonzalo Higuain will not sign a new contract, agent confirms.

Long term Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain will not be renewing his contract with Napoli according to the Argentines agent.

Higuain is under contract at Napoli until 2018 but Nicolas Higuain, his brother and agent, revealed Higuain does not intend on extending his stay in Naples.

A worry for Napoli is when to cash in? the 28 year-old Argentine is key to their team, but his agent confirmed Higuain could leave in two years for free if they do not sanction a move before.

Higuain, who scored 36 times in Serie A last season, has a current buyout clause in his contract that is reportedly £72m which has put off many European giants.

As well as Arsenal, Diego Simeone has his eyes on a world-class forward this summer and reports in Spain suggest Gonzalo Higuain is on their list of potential targets.

Speaking to Radio Continental, Nicolas Higuain said: “We arrived with a Champions League project, of being champions, of growing, and the response of the company was not the most correct.

“It’s their right to ask for his buyout clause, but we will opt for the path of not renewing the contract and he will be free in 2018.

“In these conditions we are going to respect the contract that we have with Napoli but we are not going to renew it under any circumstances. Gonzalo is super professional and will continue to give the maximum.”

Higuain also become an Arsenal player in the summer of 2013, but after reportedly agreeing a fee Madrid then demanded more and set a £35 million limit, the Gunners then baulked and moved on to other targets.

The prolific goal scorer went on to sign for Napoli and carried over his superb form for Real Madrid. Higuain went on to play 104 matches for Napoli and scored 71 goals which alone showcases his goal-scoring ability.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in Higuain if he was to become available, but the Gunners would certainly fancy themselves as they’ll be playing Champions League football next seson

Arsenal set to hold talks with Sofiane Boufal.

According to reports, Arsenal and Chelsea have moved a step ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Sofiane Boufal from Lille.

Many English clubs have been monitoring Boufal’s progress including Arsenal, Chelsea and Southampton. The 22-year-old had a prolific season last term and scored 11 goals in his first top-flight season, Boufal went on to win an award for Best African Player in Ligue 1 after his impressive displays.

French-born forward Boufal opted to play for Morocco and has represented them twice scoring 0 goals.

Guardian Journalist Ed Aarons revealed on twitter that Arsenal, Chelsea and Southampton are set to hold talks with Boufal’s agent this week to discuss the possibility of a move to England this summer.

Liverpool were also thought to be interested in Boufal and have scouted him several times last season, but it seems other Premier League clubs have now moved ahead of them in their pursuit for the midfielder.

Reports from France have already suggested Lille will sanction a move for Boufal this summer as they know it is highly unlikely they are able to keep hold of him.

Lille will demand a fee of around €25 million if they are to let their star-man go.

A major worry for English clubs is that Barcelona has set their sights on Boufal and his agent confirmed they have already held talks with the Spanish giants.

Several clubs are monitoring his situation. Arsenal has scouted Boufal extensively since January ahead of a potential summer move, with PSG also interested in Boufal.

All teams mentioned would be a huge upgrade for Boufal and help him take a bigger step in his early career, he looks destined to leave Lille this summer and only time will tell where he ends up.
