Steve Mandanda
According to the Evening Standard Chelsea are in talks to sign Steve Mandanda and are hoping to seal a deal and make him their new back-up goalkeeper.
Thibaut Courtois will remain the Blues first choice Keeper next season after retaining full confidence from new boss Conte after coming under strong criticism last season. Mandanda would have to accept a squad role within the squad and play back-up to their number one.
The imminent arrival of Conte could see Asmir Begovic head for the exit door after just one season at Stamford Bridge. The shot-stopped joined from Stoke for £8 million but failed in his mission to topple Courtois for his first team space.
Mandanda is seen as the ideal replacement for Begovic, with the 31-year-old’s current deal at Marseille running out next month and he is keen on a move away from Ligue 1.
The veteran French International has played over 300 games for Marsielle, and it now seems their goalkeeper is keen on a move abroad.
He said “Abroad would be something good at 31; It would be a nice adventure on both a sporting and a personal level. The two leagues that interest me most are the Premier League and La Liga.”
Mandanda has been the heart of Mariselle’s success since his move there in 2006; he has been their number one for nine seasons and helped Marsielle clinch the League in 2010.
A deal looks set to be completed in the coming weeks with the player desperate to leave France this summer, he would be a very good back-up to Courtois and would bring much needed leadership back to Chelsea fc.

Manchester City will have to pay in the region of £14 million to secure the Spanish International signature.
Nolito is no stranger to Pep Guardiola, the two worked together in guardiola’s first two seasons at Barcelona and it is being reported the new City manager wants to be reunited with him this summer.
The Celta Vigo star left Barcelona to join Benfica after after being sounded out of the first team and making just two appearances, his impressive rise saw him return to Spain two years later to sign with Celta.
Nolito has since gone on to score 39 goals in 100 appearances for his current club Celta, his impressive goal-scoring record caught the eye of the Spanish national manager as he has now earned 10 caps scoring four goals.
The underwhelming form of City’s stars Jesus Navas and Raheem Sterling could see Nolito slot into the first team and give Guardiola great options on the wing.
Barcelona were desperate to bring him back to the Nou Camp last season but a proposed deal fell through, and now it seems Manchester City are in poll position to land their target.
Nolito has a clause in his contract which is set at £14 million, this has caught the eye of many clubs including City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
