Juventus striker Álvaro Morata is said to favour a summer transfer to either Manchester United or Chelsea ahead of Arsenal, according to Spanish publication AS.

Morata has fallen behind Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandžukić in the pecking order at Juventus, starting 22 times for ‘La Vecchia Signora’ and scoring just 12 goals in all competitions.

Despite a below par season, the 23-year-old is said to command a £50 million price tag, which has fuelled rumours of his former club, Real Madrid, activating his £23 million buy-back clause before cashing in on the Spaniard.

Reportedly in pursuit of Morata are Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United and Paris Saint-Germain, but AS, backed up by the Independent, claim the striker will opt for a move to Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.

Central to his decision are the recent appointments of José Mourinho at Man United and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, both previously associated to the striker.

The speculative link points to the memories of Mourinho handing Morata his Real Madrid debut, whereas it was Conte who first expressed his interest in the Spain international during his time as Karim Benzema’s deputy at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has told Bild that a decision will be made on the future of Arsenal target Henrikh Mkhitaryan this week.

Mkhitaryan, who amassed the staggering total of 23 goals and 32 assists last season in all competitions, is to enter the final year of his contract as a Dortmund player, with his agent Mino Raiola recently indicating that talks over a new deal weren’t on the agenda.

A fee of £24 million has been widely reported as the price to pay for the 27-year-old, with Bild going one further by claiming that offers in that region have already been received by Dortmund.

The German source also add that Mkhitaryan is in search of a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Chelsea and now Man United ready to battle it out for the wide man.

Arsenal have switched their attentions to Leicester City target Islam Slimani in response to Jamie Vardy mulling over a move to the Emirates Stadium, according to the Sun.

The Gunners reportedly triggered Vardy’s £20 million release clause little more than a week ago but the England international put any decision over his future on ice until after his Euro 2016 campaign in France.

With various sources since then claiming that Vardy will chose to remain with the Premier League champions, the Sun believe that Arsenal will now target the signing of Sporting CP’s Islam Slimani instead, previously linked with a move to Leicester.

The Foxes sniffed around for the Algerian striker’s availability last summer and decided to reignite their interest last month with a £15.8 million bid for the man who scored 30 goals in 44 appearances this season.

Sporting, however, are keen to see their top goalscorer leave the club for his release clause only, which stands at approximately £24 million and has seen Leicester back down in their pursuit, meanwhile Arsenal, as claimed by the Sun, could be about to step in.
