NORWICH CITY V ARSENAL: Pre-match analysis

After a much needed midweek win in the Champions League, we need to get back to winning ways in the league, and our opponents this weekend is none other than Norwich City. This is a team that we should be beating and anything less than a win will be a huge blow in our quest for the title.

Whilst we are off the back of a 2-1 loss to West Brom last time out, Norwich City come off the back of a  1-0 defeat to Chelsea. Although Norwich City aren’t a banana skin (they’re not Stoke City or Swansea City), its important that we don’t jump to conclusions and write them off like we did on the opening weekend of the season [against West Ham].

Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has said that he doesn’t want to “kill his [Ramsey] strengths” by playing him in a deeper role, and has stated that he [Ramsey] “is more an offensive player”. Also, Wenger has gone on to state that Ramsey can be more effective in a deeper role with Coquelin. So what he’s saying is that Ramsey isn’t at his best when deployed in a defensive role by himself.

Back to the match preview, its vital that we win this match, especially after our title rival(s) won this weekend. We should continue to battle them and not switch off for one second.

Here’s my starting XI vs Norwich City:

ncfc vs afc line up

I think dropping Mertesacker for Gabriel will be best, as to partner up Gabriel with Koscielny. I’ve put Chambers in there to give him confidence. I wouldn’t play Flamini, as I think he wouldn’t be an effective starter, but would be more effective as a substitute (or less. Whatever floats your boat I suppose).

Who would you start? Is starting Chambers over Flamini the best idea? what is your score prediction?
